Want the Perfect Trip to the Isle of Skye?

Updated: Feb 13, 2022

I thought I'd take this opportunity to explain a bit more about the services I offer and what I'm trying to achieve with Skye Compass.

Let's be honest... the Isle of Skye is an incredible place. Each time I go, I have a list as long as my arm with places I want to see and I never get around to visiting even a quarter of them. My problem is I try to pack in too much on one trip because I want to see everything. If only we all had the time to see everything!

It can be overwhelming when you're trying to plan a trip to Skye to figure out how much you can realistically do in one day, factoring in weather conditions, driving between places, and stopping for lunch.

There are a few places on Skye that receive a lot of hype (yes Fairy Pools, I'm talking about you) and rightly so because they are so beautiful and make for an enjoyable hike. However, whilst they are must-sees, there are other, equally as beautiful places that often get overlooked - and thus are not so packed.

That's where I come in.

I am here to plan your trip for you. I will send you a short questionnaire to find out your interests, your fitness levels, and how long you are intending to stay. And then I will create an itinerary, just for you, tailored to your answers, including good eating spots along the way, and any good "stop-off" points that make for a nice photo but don't necessarily involve a long hike.

I actually offer different levels of my planning service, beginning with a general, pre-made itinerary for the length of your stay, the custom itinerary mentioned above, to basically "the full works", where I will book your accommodation, car hire, and even make restaurant reservations if required.

I absolutely love planning holidays, especially when it comes to Scotland and the Isle of Skye, but I'm aware that many people find it stressful - or just simply don't have the time. So my aim is to take away the stress from your trip, and leave you to just enjoy and explore.

Through my blog, I will be providing lots of free information and tips about what to expect during different seasons, as well as highlighting local businesses and different places to visit.

I've also got something very exciting in the pipeline for 2022, which I know you'll love, so please make sure you subscribe to my blog so you can keep up to date with what's going on.

I will be taking a break from posting a blog next week as I'll be in Skye "doing research". (Code for having fun.) But keep an eye on my Instagram for new posts and maybe even a live video...

In the meantime, here is one of my favourite books about the Isle of Skye - I still use it to plan my hikes when I go and visit, and it's so helpful: Isle of Skye - 40 Coast & Country Walks, by Paul & Helen Webster.

Tioraidh!
